The selected Project Director will be based in Canada, with travel to Pretoria South Africa. The role is part-time, and will require a level of effort of 4 months per year for a term of 5 years. Cowater is seeking an experienced Project Director to who will provide the overall management and strategic direction to the project, ensuring the achievement of its objectives through the provision of technical assistance to the Government of South Africa’s Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) to increase accountability, efficiency and transparency of public institutions in delivering gender responsive services to the South African Public. Required Qualifications: The Senior Director will have: Master’s (graduate level) degree in administration or social sciences or international development Recent professional development and/or publications related to public administration, public sector reform, capacity development, anti-corruption, public sector ethics/integrity, or public sector policy/regulations Minimum of 5 years of experience managing and overseeing multi-year (3+ years’ duration), multi-million dollar ($5 million+) international development projects Minimum of 5 years of experience, on multi-year, multi-million dollar international development projects in project planning, project implementation, human resources management, project financial management, and project reporting Experience managing international development projects in Africa, preferably in South Africa Experience managing projects focused on the prevention of corruption and the management of ethics and integrity in the public sector Experience in public sector capacity building and public sector reform, in a developing country, preferably in Africa Experience supporting project management activities, including: Liaising with project stakeholders Integrating gender equality into project activities Providing technical advice related to public sector ethics Leading project teams Managing project risks Professional fluency in English (writing, reading and speaking) All applications for the Senior Project Director are to be submitted through http://www.cowater.com/job-listings/.
